We are extremely excited to announce that we are now an official corporate patron of the Peter Jones Foundation!

The Peter Jones Foundation was founded in 2005 by successful entrepreneur and star of Dragons’ Den, Peter Jones CBE.

The Foundation believes that all young people deserve a brighter future and aims to help them reach their potential through a range of pioneering educational activities and initiatives which champion and celebrate entrepreneurship.

Designated PA share this vision and now champion the work of the foundation with one of our very own Designated PA’s supporting the Peter Jones Foundation team.

“I didn’t enjoy school and being heavily dyslexic, I didn’t feel it was the right environment for me.” – Student

The Foundation’s aims are to:

  • EDUCATE – Achieve a transformational change in the quality and accessibility of enterprising and entrepreneurial skills, education and learning available in the UK. This involves working with leading educational bodies and providers across the country.
  • ENCOURAGE – Excite all budding entrepreneurs across the nation, through a range of national campaigns, to follow their business dreams and encourage a culture of enterprise and entrepreneurship in Britain.
  • SUPPORT – Provide effective support to young people across the UK who are at various stages of their lives or in many different circumstances and in a variety of ways.

“I had really bad anxiety at school, but starting my own business gave me something to focus on.” – Student

In 2012 the Foundation launched Tycoon in Schools, a national enterprise competition which runs in secondary schools across England.

The competition encourages students between the ages of 11-18 to get involved in entrepreneurship by allowing them to set up and run a real business within their school during a specific trading period during the autumn term.

The winners of the competition are then invited to an awards ceremony at Buckingham Palace, hosted by HRH, The Duke of York, KG, Patron of the Peter Jones Foundation.
