Let’s face it, when it comes to content, visual content is king. In fact, the infographic we created last week on ‘How To Create A Business Blog In 5 minutes’ received 86% more traffic than our regular content post of 500 words. What’s more, it took HALF the time to create! This is fantastic news for the startup, struggling to achieve brand presence with a limited marketing budget.
So WHY are infographics so popular?
- 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual
- Picture posts have 600 times more engagement than text content on social media
- Between 2011 – 2013, infographics had a 800% search volume increase on google
- 82% of learning is done visually
Of course, when it comes to increasing the ever elusive organic traffic, written content with the appropriate key words will always be a win win, but from our experience, there is no better way to increase traffic in such a short amount of time than by using an infographic.
So how do we create the PERFECT infographic?
This is where Canva comes in. Canva is a tool loaded with enough easy-to-use features and functionality that anyone can create a variety of engaging content that gets shared. Even better, it’s completely FREE to use so take advantage of it before we see pricing structures creeping in alongside it’s ever growing popularity.
Canva allows you to choose and create from multiple social media templates. The Pinterest one in particular is fantastic and creates the perfectly sized Pin based on user engagement. We used the ‘Infographic ‘ template featured under the Blogging and E book section.
Designated PA offers support for small businesses and startups so we like to create ‘How To’ infographics that offer simple marketing advice rather than endless self promotion that often gets overlooked.
You can choose from a multitude of infographic templates and then change the font, colour and add imagery. The options really are endless. How about creating an infographic for new staff members to show off their key skills on social media? Here is the information to include to make it fun and more personable.
- A Fun Fact
- Major Achievements
- A Personal Quote
- Job History
